The Bairnsdale Netball
Association (BNA) was excited to hold its annual representative squad tournament on Sunday, March 24, the first in three years due to COVID and court redevelopments.
It was a fantastic day of netball with 35 teams entered from as far as Diamond Creek, joining teams from Moe,
Traralgon and Sale.
The BNA were proud of their representative players’ efforts over the day.
In the under 15 open section, Bairnsdale Blue performed well over its six games games, to end up second on the ladder, making the semi-final, before losing to Sale.
It was a tough day for Bairnsdale Red team taking only one victory home for the day.
In the under 13s, Bairnsdale Blue, finished second on the ladder but were unfortunately knocked out in the semi-finals, while the Blue side racked up two wins, but missed the finals.
Both under 11 sides won four matches, gaining lots of experience in a competition that does not have finals.
This was the first taste of representative netball for many of the under-11 players and they relished the opportunity.
The BNA coaches were very happy with the success and experience gained over the day and look forward to upcoming tournaments in 2024.
