Probus Club of Mitchell River has welcomed its new committee.
At the recent annual general meeting of the Probus Club of Mitchell River (Bairnsdale), president Meryl Pomeroy welcomed everyone and members reviewed the past year’s activities.
It has been a busy 12 months with visits to various exhibitions such as The Legacies of Conflict exhibition at the Forge Creek Theatre, the Sugar Beet Museum in Maffra, the East Gippsland Art Gallery, the Art Gallery at Stratford, and the Aboriginal Art Gallery at Forestec.
Members have also supported other local activities such as the Rotary Club of Mitchell River breakfast fundraiser for Centenary House, the Bairnsdale and District Orchid Group Spring Show and the Probus Friendship Day at Lakes Entrance, a fun day organised by the Probus Club at Lakes Entrance.
Dining has been a feature with many delights sampled at local venues as well as venues in Maffra, Tinamba, Lindenow and Paynesville. The year culminated with a very enjoyable Christmas lunch at the Wattle Point Retreat.
Speakers’ topics have been of great interest, keeping members informed about a variety of subjects.
After the presentation of the annual reports, the election of office bearers was conducted, and the incoming committee elected.
The new office bearers are as follows: president: Diana Forrest; secretary: Barbara Rogalla; treasurer: Judy Edwards; publicity: Dianne Weir; speakers: Di Keily; welfare: Peggie Arthur; hostess: Beryl Lee and Lesley Cox.
The Probus Club of Mitchell River meets at Club Eastwood on the third Wednesday of each month. If you are interested in finding out more about the club, come along to the next meeting which will be held at Club Eastwood, Lucknow on Wednesday, April 17, at 10am.
