“Age shall not weary” is certainly the motto of local tennis player, Graeme Caddy, who recently celebrated his 80th birthday.
Caddy, originally from Creswick, has been playing tennis in Bairnsdale since 1981 when he moved here from Traralgon. He is still hitting the courts twice a week with the Bairnsdale Tennis Club’s veterans group.
Prior to moving to Bairnsdale, Caddy played most of his tennis on the grass courts of Mildura where he lived for seven years as well as the hard courts and en tout cas courts of Traralgon and his hometown of Creswick.
Caddy played for Lucknow in the Bairnsdale District Tennis Competition, where he was secretary of the club for many years, and is also a life member and past president of the former Bairnsdale District Tennis Association.
As well as playing, Caddy is an active volunteer around the club and is looking forward to many more years on the court.
