Paper Arts Gippsland East (PAGE), Bizarre, Banal and Beautiful and Melanie Skuse’s Tiny Sculpture opened recently at East Gippsland Art Gallery to a large crowd.

Both shows are on until May 4.

PAGE is a community group dedicated to the exploration and celebration of paper art.

Paper art, whether paper making, artists’ books or a myriad of surface designs, has delighted members of this group since it was founded by Margaret Mason in 2007.

Melanie Skuse is a Bairnsdale local who discovered sculpture just over a year ago and it’s been a love affair ever since.

Alien creatures, magical cartoon gardens and aquatic seascapes reflect her strange imagination and interest in the extraterrestrial and natural world.

Gallery hours are Tuesday – Friday 10am-4pm and Saturday 10am-2pm.
