Brethren of Bairnsdale Daylight Lodge No 877 recently visited Paynesville to present a 60 years long service award to Alan Thomas Dennis.
Alan Thomas Dennis was initiated and raised in Union Lodge of North Gippsland No 62 in 1963 where he served as secretary and director of ceremonies.
He was conferred with Grand Lodge honours in 1987.
He was a petitioning member for the formation of Bairnsdale Daylight Lodge No 877, which was consecrated on April 19, 1984. This is an important date for the Lodge.
On this date the Lodge had its customary luncheon at Pier 70, Paynesville, to celebrate the handover from current Worshipful Master, Charles de Rochefort, to the Master Elect for the 2024-2025 year, Peter Andrewartha, prior to his Installation in May.
And on this date it also celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Lodge Consecration and for which special invitations were sent. This event could not be held in 2023.
