Local boxer Blake “Bomber” Wells has scored another impressive win last Saturday night at the Pullman Hotel in Melbourne on Will Tomlinson’s latest Wildfighter promotion.
Just 28 days after stopping Philippine warrior, Arnel Tinampay, at the Gippsland Regional Sporting Complex, Wells climbed back into the ring and outpointed tough Queensland fighter, Flin Makeham.
The fight went the distance, Makeham lasting the full six rounds despite hitting the canvas on several occasions.
All three judges scored the fight, 60-53 in the favour of Wells, the super fit local slugger taking his record to 10 wins and two losses.
It was another positive step for Wells as he resurrects his career after two disappointing losses in 2023 to the man know one wants to fight, Tej Singh.
Wells was delighted with the result at the Pullman.
“I was great to get two solid fights in the space of a month against two tough fighters, I nearly got him out of there but credit to him, he kept coming,” Wells said.
Wells is keen to get back to the gym and be ready for when the phone rings for his next engagement.
“There is always plenty to work on in this game so after a few days rest I’ll be back into it to keep improving so I’m ready for something big in the near future,” Wells said.
