Bairnsdale Croquet Club hosted its annual Doubles Tournament last weekend.
The event was magnificently managed by Marny Cummings, with players from all over the Gippsland taking the perfectly manicured courts in two sections.
After two days of play in the round robin event, section one was taken out by Lakes Entrance’s Rhonda Smith and Sale’s Peter Goldstraw, who finished ahead of Neil Warburton and Steve Saw.
In section two the victors were Sale’s Jean Phillips and Elaine Giesbers, who were narrow winners over Danny Morrison and Daryl Townsend.
Bairnsdale Croquet Club was delighted with the turnout for the event, with it played in outstanding weather and feedback in relation to the condition of courts at present, exceptional.
