Community Connections East Gippsland’s small group of volunteers continue to pack a punch supporting seasonal workers.
Last Sunday’s barbecue was a huge success thanks to everyone’s help and the food provided by the Paynesville Uniting Church and salad donations by Bulmers.
More than 70 people attended and there was only just enough food.
The weather was perfect and lots of dancing and singing was spectacular.
The Vanuatu seasonal workers, with Nellie in change and representatives from the other communities helping her, will host the next barbecue on May 12 and they wish to cook some of their own traditional foods.
This will make it easier when catering for large numbers. Thanks again was given to the Seventh Day Adventist Church for the terrific venue and donations of food. A smaller event to farewell 12 Timor Leste workers from Bulmers will be a barbecue at 5.30pm on April 7.
