Surf Life Saving Lakes Entrance completed its annual Surf Rescue Certificate and Bronze Medallion camp from December 10 to 16.
There were 40 candidates in total with 21 taking part in their Surf Rescue Certificate and 19 the Bronze Medallion, including three members from Mallacoota, plus 25 staff.
“The week allowed candidates to develop their surf awareness, rescue techniques and patrol operations knowledge, as well as basic life support skills and emergency care,” chief instructor Jessica Woodward said.
“It is always a big week, full of learning and growth. A camp of this size wouldn’t be possible without the continued efforts and support of staff.”
Surf Life Saving Lakes Entrance thanked a number of local businesses and community groups for their support throughout the camp who provided food, drink and accomodation.
“We also had seven Adult Bronze candidates successfully complete their assessments on December 10,” Jess said.
Jessica wished everyone a Merry Christmas and the lifesavers and lifeguards look forward to seeing you over the summer.
“Remember to always swim between the red and yellow flags,” Jess said.
