There’s no better spectacle than seeing a great game of beach netball on the the magnificent 90 mile beach at Lakes Entrance, play will return to Main Beach on Saturday, January 20.
Organisers are expecting strong representation from players and teams across the region.
“Lakes Entrance Netball Association is looking forward to hosting its annual beach netball event going into its ninth year,” organiser Kylie Curnow said.
Beach netball is an extension to the traditional game of netball, with the same rules and regulations, the exception being that participants aren’t required to wear
shoes and the game is played on a half-court marked out in the sand.
“Beach netball is fast, suitable for all skill levels, and great for team building. It’s also a great spectator sport,” Curnow said.
Teams can be made up of all-female, mixed, and under 17s.
“We would like to thank the teams that continue to support the competition since the very beginning and the association would like
to thank our local sponsors for supporting the event, also to Gippsport and Netball Victoria for their support in helping the competition run successfully,” Curnow said.
