Locals Claire Davidson, daughter Grace, friend Jade Gilbert and their trusty stock horse, Bart had an outstanding campaign at the Adelaide Royal Show.
Bart started the day combining with Claire in style, winning the opening class, best presented stock horse, to set the tone.
Jade Gilbert then had her turn and took Bart out to place third in his led stockhorse gelding class in a huge quality field.
Claire was aboard Bart for Australian Stock Horse and Lady Rider championship, where despite the greasy grounds, the duo pulled off a neat workout including hand gallop and haunch turns to place third, also win the best novice sash in the process.
Grace and Bart combined to win the junior under 18 stock horse hack class with a lovely workout, winning her first ever ridden Royal class in the process.
Claire combined with Bart for a solid third in the stockman’s turnout event.
Jade took Bart to fourth place in his ridden gelding hack class, before Grace rode off in the hack championship ride off, taking on the big guns.
The youngster held her own and gained an experience she should treasure forever.
The final class for the day was the youth under 18 working stock horse and by this time dear old Bart was getting pretty tired, but he and Claire still managed to earn a fourth ribbon for the show.
It was a tiring campaign with plenty of rewards and carrots for Bart.
