Local boxers Blake Wells and Liam Reynolds will be afforded plenty of exposure when they fight on the Wildfighter/No Limit card at Melbourne’s Pullman Hotel tomorrow night.
It will be former local boxer Will Tomlinson’s joint venture with the powerful No Limit promotion juggernaut, which will see the action-packed fight night streamed through Fox Sports and Kayo.
It will be great to see a couple of the stars of the local scene on the screens getting some much-needed attention, which hopefully may further their careers in the short and long term.
Wells will take on Apai Cook for the Victorian state middleweight title in a bout scheduled for eight rounds.
Wells will be hoping to strengthen his record that currently stands at 10 wins and two losses, his only defeats coming at the hand of Taj Singh on points in 2023.
Melbourne-based Cook has three wins and a loss from his four professional fights.
Both Wells and coach Paul Carroll are delighted to be back in the ring and keen to make a big impression.
“I’ve been working overtime this preparation, so I can’t wait to get in there and cash in all this hard work,” Wells said.
“Both Blake and Liam have had faultless preparations and can’t wait to see what they have to offer, expecting big things from them both on Thursday night,” Carroll said.
Reynolds will take on Deng Mawut Atem in a cruiserweight bout. It will be Reynolds’ second professional bout, while Melbourne – based Mawut Atem is on debut.
Reynolds created a huge impression on debut in June at the Pullman, knocking out Santiago Aldana early in the first round.
If he comes in that sort of form, he might well be the boxer to watch on the night.
