Bairnsdale Amaroo Country Women’s Association president Olivia Harwood welcomed club members to its monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 3, at the bridge club hall next to the railway station.
Joann gave her report on the country of study which is Romania. She spoke on their cuisine and meals, which she had photos of – they looked yummy.
Lois gave her talk on the product of study which is pulses.
Throughout the year Olivia, Lois, Helen and Karen have been working with the cub scouts with knitting, filling folders with pictures to go to the nursing homes, and this month they made berry jam.
With Olivia’s help they prepared the berries and put them in the pot and stirred them while they were cooking and filled the jars.
They all took a jar home with the recipe, very pleased with what they did.
Olivia took scones for supper up to the Library after Dark program. She does this one night a month.
The club again brought non-perishable goods to go to the Neighbourhood House for their Foodbank.
