Community Connections Bairnsdale volunteers are providing lots of support for seasonal workers with hospitality and linking them with services they may need.
Volunteers provide regular barbecues and get togethers, provide sewing machines but need a volunteer who can teach sewing skills.
Volunteers are available to transport them to the church of their choice as well as providing out of hours warm clothes and blankets, especially important for newly arrived workers who feel the cold acutely.
The next cultural event is open to the general public to see the unique cultural performance by the Kiribati Culture Dancers, the Timor Leste community dance and singing and combined performance by Solomon Islands and Vanuatu workers.
A delicious shared lunch is provided and donations welcome. Everyone is welcome to attend this unique to cultural event to be held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church Cafe at noon, Sunday, October 13.
