East Gippsland Specialist School is marking a major milestone this year with a grand celebration of its 20th anniversary, on Friday, December 13.
The school, which has been a cornerstone of educational excellence, community engagement and inclusion since its opening in 2004, is inviting past staff, students, families, and supporters to join in a day of celebration.
The anniversary celebration kicks off at 10.30am with a warm welcome and an overview of the day’s activities. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the school’s new building, including the recently added Life Skills Centre, library, art room and two inclusive classrooms.
Some historical photos documenting the school’s journey over the past two decades will be on display, offering a nostalgic look back at its growth and achievements.
At 11.30am, the spotlight shifts to a series of performances by current students, showcasing the talent and creativity that have become a hallmark of East Gippsland Specialist School.
This will be followed by an awards ceremony at 12.30pm, recognising outstanding contributions and achievements within the school community.
The celebrations will continue with a barbecue lunch served at 1pm.
Parents and visitors will enjoy their meals delivered to classrooms, while other visitors will gather in the Life Skills Centre for their barbecue.
At 2pm there will be a 20th anniversary presentation and cutting of the cake.
The 20th anniversary event is not just a celebration of the school’s past but also a testament to its ongoing commitment to fostering a supportive and dynamic learning environment.
