The Gippsland Community Foundation is thrilled to announce the appointment of Barry Rogers and Dan Poynton to its board of directors.
Both bring a wealth of experience, deep connections to the region, and a shared commitment to enhancing the lives of Gippslanders. This introduction of the new board members marks a significant step in furthering the foundation’s mission of making a lasting difference in the region.
BARRY ROGERS
Barry Rogers is a lifelong Gippslander with a career spanning education, business management and community leadership. Barry’s extensive involvement includes co- chairing Gippsland Youth Spaces, chairing Food and Fibre Gippsland and more than 25 years of dedication to the Gippsland Community Leadership Program.
Barry’s strong leadership development skills and commitment to fostering collaboration across education, agriculture and youth sectors will enable the foundation to extend its reach across the Baw Baw, Wellington, La Trobe and East Gippsland communities, connecting with new groups and driving impactful initiatives.
DAN POYNTON
Dan Poynton, executive officer of GippSport and director of Regional Sport Victoria, brings more than 20 years of experience in sports administration and community engagement.
Renowned for his ability to foster partnerships and lead strategic initiatives, Dan has played a pivotal role in promoting inclusion and accessibility in sport and recreation throughout Gippsland.
Dan’s expertise in program development and his passion for grassroots community engagement will help the foundation broaden its impact, ensuring more individuals and groups across Gippsland benefit from its work.
The addition of Barry and Dan to the board marks a significant step forward for the foundation as it expands its efforts to reach and support more people throughout the Baw Baw, Wellington, La Trobe and East Gippsland Communites.
Their combined experience in leadership, community engagement and strategic growth will enable GCF to:
