CRICKET: The Bundalaguah Cricket Club little blasters, led by Jason Langshaw, had a great time playing on the Melbourne Cricket Ground during the lunch break on day two. (PS)

CRICKET: Boisdale Briagolong club stalwart Steve Noble recently played his 300th “A” grade match. Noble started his “A” grade journey back in 1998/1999. In the years that followed Noble played a couple of seasons at Dandenong District Cricket Club. A much sought after “A” grade premiership was a long time in the waiting and it finally came to Noble in the season of 2018/2019. (PS)

NETBALL: Just prior to Christmas, youngsters were treated to a clinic at the Gippsland Regional Sporting Centre in Sale, hosted by Queensland Firebirds players Lara Dunkley, Tippah Dawn and Emily Moore. (PS)

SURF LIFESAVING: The Seaspray Surf Lifesaving Club recently held its 2024 bronze camp. The participants are pictured with chief instructor Lachy Andrews and club captain James Robbins. (PS)

FISHING: The Loch Sport Fishing Association recently held its inaugural club championship dinner at the Boat Club. Lee Woods was crowned club champion. (PS)

SURF LIFESAVING: The 2024 Seaspray Surf rescue certificate (junior lifesavers) completed the course last week Keep an eye out for the next generation of lifesavers on the beach. (PS)

MODEL AEROPLANES: Young Seth Hungerford continues to rack up the victories in the F3A class, despite taking on older and more experienced pilots. Hungerford who flies for the Sale club, was recently successful at the P&DARCS event. (PS)

BOWLS: Loch Sport Bowls Club mixed pairs champions for 2024 are Karen McKie and partner, Mark, recent 20-16 winners in the grand final. (PS)

CAMPDRAFT: Sale’s Lincoln Adams took out first place with a score of 180 in the maiden draft at the Dumbulk Country Campdraft on the weekend. (PS)

YACHTING: Last Saturday at the Gippsland Lakes Yacht Club at Paynesville, day one of the Hartly TS16s Invitational was sailed in perfect weather and wind. It was a bit of a struggle getting some of the boats in the water by hand, with competitors missing their trusty little tractor. Totally Sinister and Sinister were neck and neck at the finish line with Totally taking the event. (PS)

TENNIS: Bairnsdale Tennis Club will conduct a summer holiday clinic from January 6-8, starting from 9am and concluding at noon. The sessions with experienced and friendly coaches will focus on improving all aspects of the game, including technique, tactical skills and match play. (PS)

BOWLS: Current Victorians representatives Ayla Romanin (Bairnsdale) and Julie Simpson (Lakes Entrance) were delighted to have their photo taken recently with bowls legend Barrie Lester, who began his career in Lakes Entrance. Lester played 252 Tests for Australia and 407 State games (fourth highest all time Australia wide). (PS)

CRICKET: English cricket legend John Emburey was happy to join in the premiership celebrations with the Swan Reach Metung ladies team. (PS)

PARKRUN: International triathlete Charlotte McShane has been holidaying locally, taking the opportunity to partake in the local Saturday morning parkrun with sister Kayleigh and father Frank. (PS)

SWIMMING: Sale Swimming Club youngsters Lucy, Zayden and Zach were presented their State caps last week at training. Swimmers receiving caps have qualified for the first time to compete at a State Championship. Swimmers will compete at the upcoming State Sprints Championship in January. (PS)

YACHTING: It was a two-boat race in Sunday’s Classic Wooden Boat series race for the Metung Hotel trophy.
Wind was south east, 8-10 knots, and the course encompassed Lake King and Bancroft Bay, with first across the line and trophy winner being Pearl, with Ken Barlow, Tony Doolan, Lauren Baker, Morris Bourget, Tim Hall and Fred Haes (helm) on board. (PS)
