The Bombers kept the Magpies goalless in the qualifying final, progressing straight through to the grand final with an impressive 24-point victory in less than ideal conditions. Lucknow got its confidence back with an easy 16point win over Stratford in last Saturday's preliminary final. Both sides will go in close to full strength given the two combatants will also line up in the senior grand final. Lucknow's side is littered with talent, led by Khai Collins and Shaun Ryan up forward, both capable of kicking a bag. Logan Croucher, Tyron Turner, Jack Kennedy and Kyran McNaughton all impressed last week through the midfield, while James Sanford, 400-game veteran Leigh Stephenson, Luke Belfrage, Josh Carroll, Tim Keyte and Scott Joustra are better than average reserves players. Boisdale will go in fit and raring to go after a week off, with key forward Danny Pratt looking to complete the grand slam having already picked up the league goal kicking and best and fairest. Cooper Bailey, Matt Hinks, Cal Henning, Ben Missen, Ben Bould and Broden Kewish have all played senior football in the past two years at one of the powerhouses in the competition. Josh Neille, Jason Langshaw, coach Nathan Sellings and Shaun Bates have played plenty of football and the Bombers certainly won't lack anything in experience. The wind has made the seconds matches in the finals very ordinary, not spectator friendly, but hopefully this week the sides can enjoy ideal conditions to show what they are made of in front of huge crowd. Otherwise it may become another slog, with the side that gets the early wind advantage playing negative football in the second quarter to maintain a lead. Tight twos decider Reigning premier Lindenow will be keen to add some more silverware to its collection when it takes on Orbost Snowy Rovers in the thirds grand final. Lindenow has put together another impressive season, technically unbeaten after only losing four points to a forfeit in round 15 after playing some ineligible junior players. The Cats also have shared the points on two occasions, one with Orbost, due to an injury causing the abandonment of the match, and another with Lucknow after the match was called off after some disappointing incidents on and off the field. The Blues' form has been patchy, looking like the obvious challengers at times, only to succumb to both Lakes Entrance and Boisdale Briagolong late in the season and relinquish their hold on the double chance. Their recent finals wins against the Bombers and Seagulls were impressive and they go into the match in a rich vein of form. Best and fairest winner Brayden Fenner is an exciting proposition in the ruck, where he works in well with promising midfielders Bobby Bills and Jacob Farley, who look set to be unleashed at senior level in 2025. The freakish Kruze Farley and Angus Joiner who won the league goalkicking are a formidable combination up forward, while Hugh Barnes, Fletcher Kleinitz, Toby Herbert and Finn Donnellan are all blessed with plenty of ability and courage. The Cats struggled to put the Seagulls away in the qualifying final, but eventually did. They did defeat the Blues by 18 points in the only completed game during the home and away season. The Cats are led by Ben Rutherford, Latrell Harrison and Jeffrey Walker junior, who have all played senior football this season. They get regular goals from Latrell Hood and Kobe Smith, while Tyrone Clifford, Titus Harrison and Draven White have already tasted premiership success at under 15 level this season. Blake Bartlett and Giorgio Piccone are promising players that continue to impress. An intriguing battle looms. The Blues will need to get off to good start as they can ill afford to give a classy side like the Cats a start. Cats thirds favourites Lindenow’s Tyrone Clifford will be eager to add a thirds premiership to his recent under 15 win. 305 ESPLANADE, LAKES ENTRANCE • 5155 2244 • LAKESAUTOPARTS.COM.AU EN25357 PROUDLY Sponsoring LOCAL SPORT Bairnsdale 1/467 Main St, Bairnsdale | Lakes Entrance 1/3 Carpenter St, Lakes Entrance Call 1300 724 460 or visit solahartbairnsdale.com.au START KICKING GOALS WITH A NEW SOLAR SYSTEM!
