PODCAST - Newlands Arm resident, John Kramme, likes nothing more than to take his boat out on the Gippsland Lakes and cast a line or two to catch a fish.
He's often accompanied by his partner, Judy Leadoux, who is equally enchanted by fishing and reeling in her catch.
However, since Newlands Arm has been plagued by a toxic blue-green algal bloom, like the rest of the Gippsland Lakes, the couple hasn't been able to fish in their own backyard.
The couple says algae has killed the ecology.
