Clifton Creek owned stock horse Nonda Last Frontier claimed the $100,000 first prize at the World Championship Gold Buckle Campdraft held at Willinga Park on the New South Wales South-Coast last weekend. 
Owned by Graeme, Jody and Casey Rozynski, the 10-year-old stallion was ridden by Mat Holz, of Modella.
Campdrafting is a sport that requires outstanding skill and horsemanship – not to mention the talent of selecting an animal from the mob that will run well, but is not too fast for the horse. 
A rider on horseback must "cut out" one beast from the mob of cattle in the yard or the "camp" and block and turn the beast at least two or three times to prove to the judge that they have the beast under control, then take it out of the yard and through a course around pegs involving right and left-hand turns in a figure eight, before guiding it through two pegs known as "the gate".
The process is scored out of 100 points. The camp section carries a maximum of 26 points, the course - a maximum of four points and a further 70 points can be allocated for horse work. The competitor with the highest score wins the contest.
