Max lights up in Sale

Exciting local boxing talent, Max Reeves, was simply devastating last Saturday night, defeating the previous unbeaten Leo Grant by technical knock in the first round of his headline bout at Wildfighter Rnd 8.
A parochial large East Gippsland crowd packed into the Gippsland Regional Sports Complex hoping to see something special and the light heavyweight (76-79 kilograms) from Stratford certainly didn't disappoint, landing a series of powerful blows early, which caused Grant's eye to immediately swell and begin to close.
The ring doctor was called by the referee and with the Scottish-born boxer unable to see out of his eye, the fight was stopped and Reeves awarded the bout by technical knockout.
The quietly spoken and modest Reeves was delighted with the win, but remains focused and is already in discussions for a couple more fights this year.
"It was pretty awesome, caught him a with a shot early and his eye swelled and luckily it had to be called it off," Reeves said.
