Barrie bowls to silver

Former Lakes Entrance bowling prodigy Barrie Lester has fallen agonisingly close in his quest for Commonwealth Games gold.
Lester teamed with Ben Twist and Carl Healey to take silver in the men’s triples, suffering a 14-12 defeat to host nation England in Birmingham yesterday morning Australian time.
Trailing 12-1, the Australians rallied to level at 12-12 with two ends to play.
They held the shot in both of those, only for English skip Jamie Chestney to twice produce brilliant shots.
Australian skip Ben Twist had two chances to knock the jack into the gutter and either send the gold medal game to overtime, or win, however it was not to be.
