Prodigious local football talent, Melbourne livewire, Megan Fitzsimon, will play in her second AFL woman’s grand final this Sunday in the space of nine months.
With the AFL changing the woman’s football landscape, from summer/autumn to winter/spring, it will be a rare occurrence where two grand finals are being played in the one calendar year.
For Megan and her Demons teammates, it will give them a shot at redemption having lost the summer grand final to Adelaide on April 9, by 13 points, at the Adelaide Oval in front of more than 16,000 people.
This time, Melbourne will play Brisbane, with the Gabba and Carrera out of action, the match will be played at Springfield.
Brisbane’s new purpose-built facility, that is yet to host a match, has a crowd capacity of 8000.
