Eagle Point Caravan Park, nestled on the edge of the Gippsland Lakes at Eagle Point, has been a popular spot for holidaymakers over the summer period.
Some families have been coming to the park for generations to celebrate the close of one year and the beginning of another.
Those who camp in the park speak of the peacefulness and how the kids are free to frolic safely in the shallows of the Lakes waters.
Kaylene and Rob Johnson, from Traralgon, have an onsite cabin and have been regular visitors to the park for the past seven years.
“It’s pet friendly, so you can bring the dog along,” Mrs Johnson told the Advertiser.
