After rain interrupted play late on day one of Bairnsdale Cricket Association round seven, it was great to see the sun shining on day two, with a couple of surprises in the results.
Wy Yung recorded its first victory of the season when it dismissed a disappointing West Bairnsdale for just 77.
The Tigers resumed at 5/69, progressing the score to just 106, mainly due to some enterprising batting between Darcy Murray (15) and Damian Vicary (22), the later falling to a sharp caught and bowled from West captain, Ryan Halford, who for the second time this year ended with a five-wicket haul, this time taking 6/51.
Jack Lind was again impressive, taking 4/40.
In reply, West were dismissed in 38 overs, with only the consistent Brodie Anderson (21), Sam Stewart (19) and Halford (20) offering any resistance.
Murray capped off an outstanding match with 4/24, while the reliable Stevie Bertino was agin to the fore taking 3/28.
