A date has been set and a glorious backdrop secured for the next Mountain Cattlemen’s Get Together, where the cattlemen’s heritage will be the focus.
‘Livingstone Waters’, Omeo, owned by the Ferguson family, and set along the Livingstone Creek, will host the event on October 18-20.
Local MCAV liaison officers, Amanda Pendergast and Amber Connley, are looking forward to hosting about 3500 people at the event.
“We’re well supported up here,” Amanda said.
“This event brings tourism and money into the area, and we want to showcase events that continue the cattlemen traditions.”
“We’ll run the traditional events like the Packhorse Race and the Cattlemen’s Cup that includes cattle handling, but people will need to stay tuned for the feature events to be announced.
“We’re also planning on holding a big heritage display.”
