An African lovegrass forum next week will address one of the worst local weed challenges in the region.
African lovegrass is such an issue the local Landcare group at Toms Creek has assembled three excellent speakers and will also conduct a farm visit to view how farmers tackle the problem.
From cultivation to increasing soil fertility and competition from other plants, each topic will be covered in full.
“African lovegrass is a massive challenge for our region,” Toms Creek Landcare Group treasurer, Jen Smith, said.
“ALG is the weed pandemic of East Gippsland.
“Whether you have 10 acres or 1000 acres, if you have an ALG plant on your place or anywhere near you, this workshop is for you.”
