The Gippsland Bowls Region (GBR) eastern conference resumes after the Christmas break this weekend with four rounds remaining as sides look to ensure their participation in the 2022/2023 final series.
The two Lakes Entrance sides will clash, with a victory by Lakes Entrance 1 making a finals birth for Lakes Entrance 2 mathematically impossible.
Lakes Entrance 1 has been building as the season has progressed and one senses the next few weeks are crucial if it is to continue the domination it showed during season 2021/2022.
Top of the table Metung will make the trip into town to do battle with third placed Bairnsdale in a match that will determine whether Bairnsdale can be a legitimate threat in February and March, to both Metung and Lakes Entrance 1.
