Buchan Football Netball Club has been chosen as one of six clubs to participate in 2023 Carlton Draft, which will see one of the six AFL legends on offer play for the Cavemen this season.
The Carlton Draft is aimed at helping local football clubs get back on their feet after a tough few years, with the one-off appearances aiming to bring together Victorian communities and encouraging them to come and support local football.
This year’s draft includes, Nathan Buckley, one of the most decorated players the AFL has ever seen. In addition to his 280 AFL games of playing experience, the 2003 Brownlow Medallist and 2002 Norm Smith Medallist has also coached 218 games.
Four-time premiership Hawk and 319-game superstar Jordan Lewis and 200-game veteran, including dual best and fairest award winner, Bernie Vince, will both be wonderful additions to any team.
Rounding off the six are recently retired superstars David Mundy (Fremantle) and Josh Kennedy (Sydney), as well as heavily opinionated media personality and former Port Adelaide star Kane Cornes.
