On Monday, September 16, members of the Lindenow Lions Club welcomed third Vice District Governor for 201V3 area, Roger Lurz, his wife Karen, and zone chairman Margot Byrne for a dinner meeting at the Long Paddock in Lindenow.
Most members were familiar with Roger as he was previously a weather forecaster on ABC radio.
Since his retirement he has taken up a cabinet position in Lions, attending and promoting Lions Club International at many clubs around the area.
He gave an informative talk on his career in the Bureau of Meteorology, especially his time spent in Antarctica, and encouraged all club members to promote new memberships in the coming year.
New members are always welcomed.
Anyone interested in becoming a member of Lindenow Lions Club can contact secretary Lois Keating for information.
