Talented 17-year-old dancer from Jam Pianta School of Dance (JPSD), Heather Jenkins, recently attended a workshop in Melbourne at the Lion Heart Youth Contemporary Dance Company (LHYCD) and after Heather was observed in class, the artistic director Benjamin Cure awarded Heater, out of a possible 20 senior dancers, the only scholarship offered to attend casual classes at LHYCD in 2025.
Heather commenced formal contemporary dance training at JPSD only this year, taking am exam, receiving Honours Plus (93 per cent) so her exam result and scholarship success is wonderful evidence of the quality and authenticity of contemporary dance training provided at JPSD at a recreational level along with Heather’s skills and expression in contemporary dance.
“This is the second scholarship in two consecutive years to be awarded to (JPSD) dancer so we are all excited for Hotham,” Jan said.
