The Bairnsdale Christmas Treasure Hunt is on again.
Treasure Hunt participants will visit your displays around town, and answer the questions on their treasure map.
Hosting a display is open to all businesses, clubs and community groups, and a prize for ‘Best Dressed Window’ will also be awarded.
The entry is a minimum $50 donated prize/voucher which will go towards the prize pool. Your donated prize could be a product or gift voucher from your business, or if you do not have anything suitable to donate the Bairnsdale Advertiser can organise one your behalf. All entrants will create a Christmas display in their window or on their premises that can be safely viewed from the street.
Your display needs to feature the answer to the Treasure Hunt question that you submit. For example: on your display there is a Christmas tree and reindeer - your question might be ‘What colour are the reindeers on the Christmas tree?”.
The Treasure Hunt starts Tuesday December 1, 2026 and entries will close at 9am on Sunday, December 20, 2026. Prizes will be drawn and published in the Bairnsdale Advertiser on Wednesday, December 23rd.
The number of correct answers the participant submits determines how many entries they receive in the competition. For example: 1-10 correct answers equates to 1 entry, 11-20 correct answers means 2 entries and so on… A bonus entry will be awarded if all answers are filled in and correct.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

• Submit your Bairnsdale Treasure Hunt question and answer by Friday, November 13.
• Set up your display or decorate your Christmas window by Tuesday, December 1.
• All displays need to be easily accessible.
• All participants will receive a window display number and A3 printed maps.
The Bairnsdale Advertiser has access to a small number of vacant windows for clubs and associations that do not have access to a window or a suitable place for a display.

If you are a business and have a vacant/spare window that you are willing to let a club, community group or school decorate please indicate on your registration form or contact the Advertiser.
