Last weekend marked a special milestone for the Kingfisher Dragonboat Club as members came together to celebrate their second birthday.
The festivities began bright and early with two full boats of enthusiastic paddlers hitting the water, making
the most of the scenic conditions.
After a productive morning of practice in preparation for the Australia Day weekend regatta at Falls Creek, after training, paddlers moved around to Eagle Point for a well-deserved break.
Members enjoyed a delicious lunch and capped off the celebrations with a birthday cake, commemorating two years of teamwork, camaraderie and success.
During the celebration, club president Zonda Lynn reflected on the club’s incredible journey. She spoke about the 11 founding members whose vision and dedication brought the club to life, as well as the sponsors and supporters who have been instrumental in its growth.
“It’s been an amazing journey, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without the passion and hard work of our members and the generosity of our community,” Zonda said.
With the Falls Creek regatta fast approaching, the team is motivated to continue its tradition of excellence and sportsmanship.
Here’s to many more years of paddling, progress and celebrations for the
Kingfisher Dragonboat Club.
