Last week saw the contesting of the much sought-after and fiercely contested monthly medals at Bairnsdale Golf Club.
On Wednesday 78 ladies teed off on a perfect day for golf, with the course in excellent condition after receiving a deluge of rain the previous week.
It caused quite a bit of damage mainly to bunkers and surrounds at the time, these were quickly repaired by contractors, course staff and volunteers, and now the benefits are there for all to enjoy.
New member Helen Haining playing off a handicap of 28 had the best score of day with 67 nett, winning “C” grade and taking out the February monthly medal, this makes her eligible to play off for the prestigious Marion Dwyer Medal in October.
The consistent Fran Mantell won “A” grade with 73 nett, and Zetty Clark won “B” grade with 69 nett.
Marg Hillier was victorious in the nine-hole event.
