The East Gippsland Photographic Society met last week at The Hub community centre room 16.
The club had Vicki McKay judging the nature and open photographs. The photos were displayed on a large screen and critiqued with helpful ideas to improve how the shot might be improved if necessary.
The club is collecting members’ photos to represent the club in the following interclub competitions: Camberwell Nature, VAPS, Gippsland and Mornington “B” grade Notice.
“Each year we select our finest images and compete for the best results for both the club and individual photographers,” Veronica Curtis said.
“The club is open to anyone who enjoys taking photos with a camera or a phone, people who would like a few tips on improving their shot and who would like to meet up with like-minded individuals. Just come along and take a look.
“Check out the website as well. Fees are reduced at the moment to half price. Full fees are due in July. We meet every fourth Wednesday except December.
“Our club has bi-monthly competitions within the club, bi-monthly speakers and monthly field trips that vary from day trips locally or a couple of days away. We have a trip away coming up in March to The Blue Lotus gardens, Redwood Forest, Alowyn Gardens and Healesville sanctuary.
“We also had a Saturday workshop which was well attended by members. Featuring beginner information, the basic rules that make great photos, macro, panoramas, hands on and editing. We intend to hold another one in July.”
The club had its presentation night for members with the highest score throughout the year.
