Nicholson Angling Club recently hosted its 2024/25 club awards and it was great to see some of the clubs juniors stepping up and taking out some of the big awards.
Young Riley Whelan, who has just began competing in Hobie kayak events, was awarded the club champion and also took home the award for the longest five bream string of the season.
Another teenager, Cody Perdon, snared the longest bream in the senior and under 16 categories, with Alex Tremewen successful in the under 12 division.
Local star Ruth Beeby was the winner of the women’s biggest bream, while another outstanding ladies angler, Nikki Bryant, was successful in the largest other species.
Wayne Stanton was a popular winner of the longest from the surf and bank.
Both the Marlo and Bemm River competition awards went to Blair Bryant, while Neil Fleming won the Easter Shield.
Phillip O’Kelly was delighted to win the longest trout, while Steve Whibley had a busy season landing the most species.
