Omeo Golf Club was victorious in the annual “Gap Challenge” against arch rival Tambo Valley Golf Club recently.
Tambo Valley was looking to go back-to-back but it wasn’t to be, Omeo clinching the trophy with a 34.83 to 33.85 victory.
The event began at the Tambo Valley Golf Club on Saturday, culminating at Omeo on Sunday.
Saturday’s individual winners included Sue Agnew (ladies), Bill Cooper (“A” grade) and Pom Metherall (“B” grade), who had the most stableford points, an impressive 38 in the hot conditions.
Tambo headed to Omeo with a slight lead (0.8) but it proved to be not quite enough.
On Sunday the major individual winners were Chris Faithful (“A” grade ladies), Lily Hawkin (“B” grade ladies), Karl Hussegger (“A” grade) and Daryl Shepherd (“B” grade), who had a day out accumulating a sensational 43 points.
The annual Omeo tournament is coming up from March 12-16, with a chance to enjoy a weekend full of golf, fun and lots of laughs at a beautiful little course.
There are some great prizes available this year including an accomodation package to Mulwala.
