After more than 20 years of voluntary work the Picnic Point Reserve has been transformed from a de-based weed covered wasteland to the lovely area enjoyed by so many today.
Unfortunately, age illness and death have resulted in the membership of the Friends of Picnic Point Reserve Landcare Group being diminished to such an extent that the good work already completed is in danger of being undone.
Consequently, a working bee is to be held at 9am on Saturday, March 15, in the hope that folk willing to help (however briefly) will head along with gardening gloves, hand trowels or other hand tools and buckets for weed collection.
To get there continue along Bredt Street until you reach the gate at the bottom of the hill walk.
A morning tea will be provided after the work is done followed by a guided exploration of the reserve.
