Swan Reach look well placed to push for high finish on the Omeo District Football Netball League ladder with an impressive 134-point victory over Buchan in round one last Saturday at the Swan Reach Recreation Reserve.
With new additions to the line-up in 2025, Alex Saunders, Tyrone Hayes, and Will Forrester among the best, the Swans kicked 16 goals to three in the second half to make a significant statement.
Max Solomon had a field day up forward finishing with eight majors, showing the benefits of his recent round one appearance with Bairnsdale in the reserves.
Jesse Guarnaccia impressed slotting five goals, while Boris Byrant and former Lakes high flier, Anthony Bence finished with
three each.
All three featuring in the best players on the ground, though they would have struggled to wrestle the three votes from Saunders, who makes the game look so easy when he is
on song.
Amongst the best players were Connor McCormack, James Woodgate, Christopher Mathers, Cohen Manning, Jack Brick and Luke Howes.
After the week off for the Easter festivities, Swan Reach will take on Lindenow South at the Swamp, with Buchan welcoming Omeo Benambra.
