Many people are still unaware that the Bairnsdale Farmers’ Market, which has run successfully at the Bairnsdale Secondary College for many years, is now run by the Howitt Park Bowls Club.
As such, it is located at the corner of the highway and McEachern Street, just below the Howitt Park Bowls Club.
It has been plagued for several months by the confusion of the roadworks and the difficulty of seeing where to turn off.
However, now that a new roundabout is completed, it is easy to turn left if coming from the east side or swing around the roundabout if coming in from the west. Parking is no problem, so you can pop in and enjoy a stroll around the market, sit around for a chat and a coffee and appreciate some of the food and crafts from the area – fresh produce from Lindenow, fruit from Picnic Point Farm and the Fruit Farm, locally distilled spirits, gourmet pies, Nicholson nuts and coffee and many more, including some beautiful and unusual crafts.
This Saturday, May 3, from 8am to noon and the first Saturday of each month.
