The Bairnsdale parkrun again attracted a large field last Saturday, with 96 participants tackling the course next to the picturesque Mitchell River.
It was great to see so many people out and about early in Bairnsdale, walking, jogging and running the five-kilometre course.
The event saw nine first timers, with 10 personal best times recorded, while representatives of six different clubs took part.
Blade Baxter led the field home in 19 minutes and 26 seconds, with Mikhaila Bromwich (21.15) again the first women home.
Personal best times were recorded by John Theodore (24.06), Chelsea Tan (27.41), Clinton Whelan (30.03), Chris Seymour (30.36), Anna Duncan (31.20), Skye Smith (35.29), Huon Stephenson (43.57), Truman Dickson (43.57), Chris Dickson (43.57) and Roy Stephenson (48.09).
Running groups represented in the event were Riviera Triathlon Club, Lara Runners, Melbourne Frontrunners, East Gippsland Runners, Elevate Running and the Derek Zoolander Centre For Kids Who Can’t Run Good.
The run departs from the Port of Bairnsdale each Saturday morning at 8am.
