Bowlers celebrate

Bairnsdale Bowling Club ladies' singles champion was emerging youngster Ayla Romanin, pictured with club vice president, Stewart Pyers and Mary Wyndham-Smith. The ladies singles trophy is named after Mary's mother. (PS)

Bairnsdale Bowls Club’s season culminated last Monday night with presentation night held at the club.

It was another successful season for the club, highlighted by a Gippsland Bowls Region weekend pennant division three premiership.

The club and their magnificent greens again hosted numerous events, showcasing why its regarded as the bowling pinnacle of the evening.

Major club event presentations were made, led by the coveted club singles titles, which were won by Danny Prazza and Ayla Romanin.

Although the bowls session is officially closed, there is still plenty of bowls being played on the splendid greens.

Players kept their eyes in and are looking to hone their game, as the new season will be here before we know it.

Ladies 21 up singles champion Nannette Hamilton. (PS)
Mixed fours champions were Murray Cripps and Pauline Cripps. Absent were Mary Dauven and Danny Downie. (PS)
Mixed pairs champions were Neil Watts and Di Williams. (PS)
Minor singles champion Rowan Holloway. (PS)

Margaret Hicks (absent) and Glennis Creber were successful in the ladies pairs. (PS)
Mens fours championship winners were Bob Tonissen (absent), Colin Smith, Steve Smith and Ted Liddle. (PS)
Nanette Hamilton, Di Williams, Jeannie Claridge (absent) and Nicole Lewis were the winners of the ladies’ fours championship. (PS)
Mens 100 up championship winner was Jeff Watts. (PS)
Ladies 100 up champion was Sarah Smith. (PS)
Men’s triples champions Neil Watts, Adam Easton and Jeff Watts. (PS)
Ladies triples winners Wendy Campbell, Kaye Challinor (absent) and Mandy Giddings. (PS)
