Last Thursday night, East Gippsland Shire Council mayor, Councillor John White, CEO Fiona Weigall and general manager Stuart McConnell joined Member for Eastern Victoria Tom McIntosh to proudly celebrate the completion of the lighting upgrade projects at both Lindenow South Recreation Reserve and Wy Yung Recreation Reserve.

The grounds were a hub of activity with plenty of players out and about training, and spectators in attendance, waiting for the weekly club dinners to commence.

The project included installing energy-efficient LED lights to replace outdated timber lighting, which now meets AFL standards and enhancing access, safety and community pride.

With strong community involvement at both reserves, these improvements will allow for better use of the grounds, day and night.

The project was a combination of great work from the East Gippsland Shire Council, Local Roads and Community Infrastructure, Sport and Recreation Victoria, Lindenow South Recreation Reserve, Lindenow South Football Netball Club and the Wy Yung Football Netball Club.

East Gippsland Shire Council (EGSC) mayor, Councillor John White, Tom McIntosh MP, Tim Morrison (Wy Yung Junior Football Club president), EGSC CEO Fiona Weigall, John Websdale (Wy Yung Recreation Reserve grounds committee president), and Craig Radford (Wy Yung Football Netball Club president) came together at Bullumwaal Road last week to celebrate the official opening of the lighting upgrade.
