Christmas in July events are becoming more popular and the Paynesville Motor Cruiser Club had a great day last Sunday with more than 70 members and guests enjoying the company of Santa Claus and the sweet tones of members of the Paynesville Songbirds.
A special Christmas poetry reading was delivered in a novel way by Scottish national and musician Christina Coull. Club Commodore Sam Beechey was pleased with the size of the playful crowd and the spirit of the day.
Sally Kelly and Tracey Eagles were the driving force to make the day happen and the two of them were the powerhouse in the kitchen preparing
meals along with other committee members and volunteers.
According to Pearl Findlay-James the day was also a financial success, which was pleasing for the committee.
