Sarsfield resident, Joanne Andrews, has been recognised for her work in community recovery following the horrific Black Summer bushfires.
Ms Andrews is the secretary of the Sarsfield Community Association and the secretary of the Sarsfield Recreation Reserve Committee of Management.
It was in those roles Ms Andrews suddenly found herself at the forefront of the unfolding bushfire recovery effort following the fires.
As secretary of the recreation reserve, Ms Andrews possessed the keys to the community hall and in the days following the bushfires opened its doors so Sarsfield’s residents could come and connect with one another in their grief.
