The Bairnsdale and District Amateur Basketball Association (BDABA) has a new child safety officer with the appointment of Tamara Wood.
The BDABA priority is to have “Every Child, Every Game – Safe and Supported”, with child safety the top priority.
They are committed to a culture where all children feel safe, included and empowered on and off the court, with the promise to children and families, zero tolerance for abuse, strong policies and procedures, safe spaces for all children and ongoing training for staff and volunteers.
Wood has many years’ experiences working with children and
families across various aspects of child safety and is is passionate about creating safe, supportive environments where children
can thrive.
“I’m proud to support child safety and wellbeing at Bairnsdale and District Amateur Basketball Association. Child safety is everyone’s responsibility, and we can all work together to ensure a safe and inclusive space for our basketballers and their families,” Wood said.
The BDABA is dedicated to a child-safe environment for every player and every family.
