East Gippsland Wedding Expo Review

by Bairnsdale Advertiser
15 August 2018
in Local News

A crowd of around 220 people was treated to glasses of bubbly and goodie bags on arrival at the 13th annual East Gippsland Wedding Expo, held at Boucher Hall, on Sunday, August 5.

Organisers of the East Gippsland Newspapers event said this year’s expo was again very well received as brides, grooms and their family members and friends browsed the stalls of the 33 exhibitors, which included photographers, fashion and beauty, decorators, celebrants, venue hire and much more.

The pop up café was a great attraction to the expo with catering provided by Duart Homesteads and Vintage Graze. A pop up mocktail bar was also a joint effort with Back Paddock Bar and Kubarz Gippsland.

Cathleen Free took the stage as the master of ceremonies for the day and was also a roving reporter, giving exhibitors a chance to promote their expo specials to the brides and grooms in attendance. She shared the stage with folk singer/songwriter, Matthew Bentley, on his acoustic guitarist.

For something a little different, Gippsland Games Hire, brought along its giant games, which proved popular.

Congratulations to ‘East Gippsland Bride of the Year’ winner, Sheridan Lancaster. The competition generated more than 6700 votes for the 38 brides.

A large array of door prizes went to many lucky winners, while proceeds from the gold coin donation entry to the expo was $290.50, which will be donated to the Breast Care Support Fund of East Gippsland.

For further photographs and details visit the expo’s Facebook page, Instagram or www.eastgippslandweddingexpo.com.au.
