Boisdale Briagolong scored a dramatic victory over Lindenow South in the 2025 Female Football Gippsland senior grand final at Traralgon Recreation Reserve last Sunday.
In a classic encounter, where no side took a backward step and supporters on the edge of their seats, the Swampies led for the entire match, only to lose after the final siren.
Bomber skipper Amanda Hancock kicked her third goal from the goal line after receiving two 50 metre penalties, the second for encroaching into the protected area, as she kicked a behind, which would have seen Lindenow South hang on.
The penalty gifted Hancock another kick and she made no mistake, the Bombers home by four points in a thrilling match, much to the delight of their ecstatic fans.
League veteran and Boisdale vice captain Shani Dixon was awarded the player of the match in her 150th game.
The Swampies held a slight advantage all day, with eight points the biggest margin between the sides.
Earlier in the day Boisdale Briagolong won the Youth Girls division two decider 14-11 over Nar Nar Goon.
