The Gippsland Stars netball program pocketed two premierships in the grand finals of the SSNS Eastern under 19 competition played at the Waverley Netball Centre last Friday.
In the division two decider, the Gippsland Stars under 17 prevailed with the last shot of the match, winning 47-46 over Chelsea in a sensational match.
Bairnsdale’s Mia Ballinger was awarded best on court, joined in the team by fellow Redlegs Olivia Pearson, Heidi Allen, Maizy Duck and Ava Langley.
In division one, the Stars were much more comfortable winners 56-47, after a tight tussle through the first half.
Bairnsdale were represented by Maddie Fullgrabe and Sophie Scott.
In other Gippsland Stars news, the 2025 awards have been presented for the championship and under 23 side.
The best and fairest winner in the championship division was won by Shannon Blackman, with Ramayer Gourley, awarded the shooting star, with Bairnsdale’s Sally Deller receiving both the most valuable player and
team star award.
In the under 23s, Jayde Parsons was awarded for her outstanding season, picking up the most valuable player and the best and fairest, with the shooting star going to Charlize Traumanis.
