Hello Gippsland!
I’m so excited to be bringing you ‘Go Get it Gippy’ – a free, year-long health program delivered right here in the Gippsland Weekend.
Each month, I’ll share one simple habit change that I’ve seen make the biggest difference to my patients’ health.
We’ll take things step-by-step so it’s achievable, sustainable, and — most importantly — enjoyable.
My goal is simple: to help our community feel more energised, stronger, and healthier by making changes that actually work in real life.
You’ll also find bonus tips, recipes, and support on our Facebook page, Go Get it Gippy — because health is easier (and more fun) when we do it together.
MONTH 1 HABIT CHANGE: BOOST YOUR BREAKFAST
Whether you’re a breakfast lover or a “just coffee until lunch” kind of person, what you eat in the morning can set the tone for your whole day.
The right breakfast helps stabilise energy, improve concentration, and even support better food choices later on.
Here’s how to get started:
If you currently skip breakfast:
Try starting small. Aim to eat something before 10am to gently wake up your metabolism.
Here are some easy ideas:
– Two boiled or scrambled eggs
– Greek yoghurt with a few berries
– Wholegrain or gluten-free toast with hummus and sliced tomato
If you already eat breakfast:
Let’s optimise it by making sure you have protein, carbs, and something fresh (fruit or veg) in the mix:
– Eggs with avocado and wholegrain toast
– Porridge topped with stewed fruit and a sprinkle of mixed seeds
– Veggie-packed frittata
– Overnight oats with berries and chia seeds
THIS MONTH’S CHALLENGE
Commit to your upgraded breakfast every day for the next four weeks.
It’s a small change, but you might be surprised by how much better you feel.
See you next month for habit #2 — and remember, for recipes and extra support, join our community at Go Get it Gippy on Facebook.
Here’s to a healthier, happier Gippsland.
